Crema quemada

The crackle on top gives way to this silky, rich custard center that’s clearly made with real vanilla bean. I ordered a box for a dinner party and they vanished before dessert was even served.

The caramelized sugar layer cracked perfectly with the back of my spoon, and the Madagascar vanilla custard inside was rich without being cloying. I've tried a lot of creme brulee, but this little bonbon version is dangerously easy to finish in one sitting.
